Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu
Situated in the serene town of Badrinath in Uttarakhand, the revered Badrinath Temple, also known as Badrinarayan Temple, holds a prominent place among the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit, which includes Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. These sacred destinations attract countless pilgrims every year, forming the spiritual backbone of northern India’s religious tourism.
Perched at an altitude of approximately 3,100 meters, Badrinath nestles in the Garhwal Himalayas along the banks of the Alaknanda River. The town is flanked by the majestic Nar and Narayana mountain peaks, adding to its mystical charm.
According to tradition, the temple was revived by the great philosopher-saint Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the shrine remains open only for six months—from late April to early November—as the region becomes snowbound during the winter months, rendering it inaccessible.

Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Badrinath Temple is the spiritual heart of the town and a major Char Dham pilgrimage site. Nestled between Nar and Narayan mountain ranges along the Alaknanda River, the temple draws thousands of devotees during its open season. Its vibrant architecture and sacred aura make it a must-visit.

Located near Badrinath Temple, Tapt Kund is a natural thermal spring believed to have medicinal properties. Pilgrims take a ritual dip here before entering the temple. Despite the freezing climate, the water remains warm year-round, adding a mystical allure to this sacred bathing spot, which is steeped in religious significance.

About 9 km from Badrinath, Vasudhara Falls is a stunning cascade plunging from a height of 400 feet amidst the Himalayas. It’s believed that the water only touches those who are pure at heart. Surrounded by rocky cliffs and silence, the waterfall offers a peaceful and scenic trekking experience.

Just 3 km from Badrinath, Mana is India’s last village before the Tibetan border. Rich in mythology, it features attractions like Vyas Gufa (where sage Vyas wrote the Mahabharata) and Bhim Pul, a rock bridge said to be placed by Bhima. The village blends culture, nature, and legends beautifully.
