Badrinath and Kedarnath
High in the tranquil folds of the Himalayas lie two revered shrines—Kedarnath, and Badrinath—collectively celebrated as the Do Dham. Every year, these sacred sites welcome vast streams of devotees, making them northern India’s most significant pilgrimage circuit. Pilgrims traditionally journey west to east, starting at Badrinath, and concluding with Kedarnath.
Kedarnath, one of the Panch Kedar and the northernmost Jyotirlinga, is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple rises near the source of the sacred Mandakini River.
Badrinath venerates Lord Vishnu. Set beside the swift Alaknanda, it is said that Vishnu meditated here while his consort Lakshmi stood guard as a berry—or Badri—tree, providing him shelter.

Situated in the serene town of Badrinath in Uttarakhand, the revered Badrinath Temple, also known as Badrinarayan Temple, holds a prominent place among the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit, which includes Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
These sacred destinations attract countless pilgrims every year, forming the spiritual backbone of northern India's religious tourism.

Set amidst the towering Garhwal Himalayas, Kedarnath is one of India’s most sacred pilgrimage destinations. Perched at an elevation of 3,580 meters, this ancient town is built around the iconic Kedarnath Temple, near the Chorabari Glacier, the origin of the holy Mandakini River.
